It was an honor to have my friend, Mrs. Moses, at our picture book reading of “Mommy Eats Fired Grasshoppers.” She is 96 years young and is a great-grandmother. She told me at the reading, “I have an 8 year great-grandson and he just loves being with me. He wants to sit with me all the time. He also loves the fact that I have my name on a building.” The community center in Perris California is named after Mrs. Moses and she visits the center weekly. Mrs. Moses has contributed to and advocated for her community and it’s always a pleasure to be in her company. My daughters were really happy to have met her while they helped at the book reading. I love her connection with her great-grandson… what a special bond.
